Don’t Act Superior

During all conversations, don’t act like a parent or professor. If she asks for advice like she’d ask a good friend, carefully say what you think. Be certain you are talking with her as an equal. If she indirectly asks for advice, beg off or play dumb. Coming across as smarter or more worldly is always wrong.

STEEPLING

The photo above, with palms facing, the person’s fingertips become the top of a church steeple. From there, he, or she, pontificates, like the Pope. Readily seen on talk shows as the guest enlightens us all.

The person is confident but arrogant. He knows more than the people he’s talking with. The sentence he’s not saying is, “You poor things. You know absolutely nothing.” Pontificating as the Pontiff does to his flock. A holier-than-thou attitude. Assumed by corporate royalty and politicians.
